Thank You For Your Service

Corporal, we commend you for being a valuable asset to the GCSO and thank you for your service.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office proudly recognizes Corporal Blackburne as the November Spotlight of the Month. Corporal Blackburne's expertise is evident through his various assignments within the GCSO since 2012. From working in Jail Operations to Classifications, he is now serving in the Transport Unit.

As the Corporal of Transport, he is responsible for delegating the transfer of inmates to and from designated facilities, both within and outside of Georgia, while prioritizing their safety and security. He oversees documentation of transportation records, daily court hearings, prison relocations, and medical appointments.

Corporal Blackburne holds Field Training Officer (FTO) and Commercial Driver's License (CDL) certifications, which is required to facilitate the transport vehicles. Corporal Blackburne's cross-training with Field Operations and the Civil Unit further demonstrates his commitment to continuous development. He is an inspiration to his fellow deputies, encouraging them to strive for success through hard work. He emphasizes the rewarding experience of making a positive impact on the lives of individuals he encounters, particularly juveniles.
