Deputy Sarpy, we thank you for your exceptional service to the citizens of Gwinnett County.
On August 7th, Deputy Sarpy was commended for demonstrating professionalism when responding to a medical emergency during Evening Watch. Through effective communication, Deputy Sarpy was able to calm an individual and address her refusal to receive medication.
His ability to successfully de-escalate the situation played a crucial role in alleviating a mental health crisis. He stated, “Anyone can be good at something, but to be great, one should follow the 3 P’s: practice, patience, and persistence.”
Deputy Sarpy has been an invaluable member of the GCSO for four years and is relied on by his team as a first responder to emergencies and special assignments. His dedication is evident through his Field Training Officer (FTO) and Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) certifications.
